Welcome to Whitefella Walkabout Photography

From my earliest memories growing up in Kenya in East Africa I have been a wanderer ... watching for the view over the next hill, exploring rough tracks and the most remote places I could reach, whether on a horseback or in a four wheel drive vehicle.

As a boy I used to draw and paint the African wildlife and landscapes. As a man I dabbled in photography until a few years ago I really got the urge to attempt to capture the beautiful landscapes around me. Now my life seems to have been consumed by the urge to seek out those unique and subtle combinations of lines, textures, light, colour, depth and movement that nature so kindly lays out for our enjoyment.

I am always looking for a different perspective in the landscape or that little something that highlights the behaviour of birds and other animals in their natural environments.

Now, as a full time nomad, I am travelling around Australia living on the road and posting new photos and videos as I go.

My photography is my passion. I truly hope you enjoy looking at these images. I have a wonderful time travelling to so many places to try and get "that special shot"

Please feel free to contact me by email if you have any questions about any particular photo or location.

Perhaps you are a photographer as well.
If you would like to visit some of the very remote places in my photos, but you are not comfortable doing it on your own, I would be happy to be your guide. You may have a 4WD vehicle, or you may just want to hire one and tag along with me as I go. Get in touch and we can discuss how I could help you with some truly unique experiences.

(Thank you to Cliff Hosking for the red chalk portrait of me. You can see more of Cliff's beautiful art works at www.cliffhoskingart.com.au)
